Chewing gum is not on the approved foods list and we do not recommend it due to the effect of mastication on our digestive system in the absence of food. However, this is a personal choice and if you do wish to chew gum, a sugar-free and aspartame-free option would be best. PUR is a brand available at health food stores that would fit these criteria. Please note that most sugar-free supermarket gums contain aspartame and other additives.
